Role: Physiotherapist
Qualifications: MSc, BSc, MCSP, HCPC
Allan founded Recover Physio & Wellbeing Clinic with the belief that injury treatment and rehabilitation could be more effective, more individual and more focused on helping people return to the activities that matter to them.
His main clinical interests are sports injuries, postural problems and persistent musculoskeletal pain. Having seen a significant rise in problems linked to sedentary work and prolonged sitting, Allan has developed particular expertise in assessing and treating adult lower-back pain.
“Pain can alter our perception and prevent us from living the life we choose. Even simple things become harder when we are in pain. Having experienced several injuries myself, I understand how important it is to support a full recovery and empower patients to return to being the best they can be.”
Allan’s physiotherapy is underpinned by a background in strength and conditioning. He regularly applies this knowledge to support both recovery and performance, with particular experience in athletics, cycling and field-based team sports.
Outside the clinic
Allan still plays hockey and tennis and has a background in athletics. He has completed his first Ironman and plans to take on his second later next year. These days, he is increasingly drawn to his “less injury-causing” sports, with padel and general hybrid fitness training moving to the forefront. Outside of sport, his three children and a steady stream of woodwork projects keep him busy.
